I don’t know that that’s really the case.
While I don’t like everything that DC may have done with those characters over the years, I do think it’s a dangerous situation for our industry to have so much of it under a single roof. You need for there to be competition in order to truly bring out the best in everyone. And sure, there’d still be competition with other publishers, Image and Valiant and Dark Horse and so forth—what they do isn’t really quite what we do.
Also, there are only so many comics that we can or should publish, so in all likelihood, for good or ill, you’d see, I don’t know, half as many Marvel and DC books as you do now. Which would be great if only the best of both companies were what continued on, but that would also mean that a lot of people’s individual favorites would be harder to find.
OMG!!!!!! If Disney buys time warner it will be the greatest day for comic fans!
